Job Description

The Client Partner Executive is responsible for growing IBM Revenue / Wallet share by taking control of the Client Experience and cross level client relationship (LOB Leaders; C-Suite & CEO) with one or more important IBM clients or competitive prospects, including traditional large accounts, OEMs, alliance partners, business partners, distributors and end-users of IBM technology.

This is a key sales leadership role to drive the creation and closure of large deals. The individual will provide leadership and expertise in identifying, developing , progressing, negotiating and closing large, most complex, leading edge, high-risk opportunities, planning and leading negotiations with the highest levels of customer management

Overall Breadth:

  • The integrator of IBM for the client, responsible for superior client experience by owning key relationships and end to end delivery to ensure the client derives financial value from the partnership.
  • Leads the development of the overall account plan and has primary responsibility for identifying and prioritizing client’s business goals, financial position and competitive ecosystem, to grow IBMs Revenue / Wallet share.
  • Integrates IBM to provide customized solutions aligned to client need;
  • Builds cross Brand / Geo networks – leveraging social tools to collaborate and deliver client value with speed;
  • Drives conflict resolution and takes ownership of the client experience.

Cultivate Client Relationships:

  • Works iteratively to develop and execute a relationship plan, by also leveraging social technology, to address client LOB heads, C-Suite including the CEO.
  • Uses industry / domain skills to build business relationships with senior client executives, earning a reputation as one of the client’s trusted business advisors.
  • Leveraging other subject matter experts, executives, and thought-leaders as needed to provide value to the client.

Deliver Client Value

  • Behave like a “Client Partner” (with flavors of consultant, industry and technical knowledge),
  • Intimately understands the client’s organization and culture.
  • Demonstrates strong business acumen in connecting ideas from adjacent industries.
  • Skilled in consultative selling, with a deep understanding of the client’s needs and IBM capabilities.

Share IBM Strategies

  • Broad Understanding. Understands IBM business and brand strategies and how these translate into solutions which address client needs.

Apply Client Industry Insight

  • Creates innovative, multi dimensional partnerships to sell to the clients end users; Orchestrates across various Client & IBM’s Business units / Brands.

Apply Technical Methods & Models

  • Presents bold and disruptive ideas to position IBM solutions & services to provide explicit financial & business benefit succinctly to a CXO.
  • Uses new age business apps and often partners with others (SIs, ISVs, BPs) to strengthen the solution.

Required Skills:

  • Works closely with Client C-Suite (New Buyers) including CEO.
  • Actively leverages Social & Digital technologies to augment long term relationships
  • Demonstrates Bold & Consultative POV to bring differentiated business value for Client success
  • Able to Build and Innovative “Win-Win” Client Partnerships
  • Able to prepare compelling Business Value propositions for the CXO w/Brands and by involving new age BPs/ SI’s.
  • International Experience with Regional / Geo responsibilities Qualifications
