The Sales Manager, will be responsible for supervising a team of sales and technical personnels to develop new accounts and sales activities of the company in the industrial adhesive markets. He / she will be responsible for meeting the budget and fulfill the strategic planning laid down. This position will focus in growing the market share in selected markget segments through value added service by leveraging with technical service and operation team to keep up with our service offerings to meet customers’ needs. This position reports to the Business Manager – Indonesia.
The successful candidate will have a robust knowledge of the value chain of specialty chemicals and be technically proficient to value-sell into broad spectrum of industries in Non-woven, packaging, tobacco, woodworking, paper converting to name a few. He/She will utilize the understanding, contacts, and technical skill to identify, penetrate and close high-potential customer targets with our solution offerings and to communicate our capabilities to customers, partners (eg. OEMs) and other audiences
Internally, the sales manager must be able to lead local sales / technical service team to articulate customer needs in term of end use applications and work closely with Program managers; Technical Service / Application Engineers and Product Development to meet and exceed the needs of the customers and then execute on a project plan to realize sales in the target timeline. He/She will work well in a matrix organization and liaise effectively with internal partners such as Product Development and Operations to deliver product and value to customers and successfully close business.
The position offers excellent opportunity for existing sales professional to work for a global leader in Industrial adheisve or technical service personnels who have career plan to pursue a sales career.
The Sales Manager will be involved in a variety of typical sales management ; business development and sales activities to grow HB Fuller’s business in the Industrial adhesive markets:
Manage the sales and technical service team by creating a high performance team culture.
Provide strategic guidance and direction to close on target accounts and increase market share in selected segments.
Continously refine the product/ service and brand offerings to the target accounts to create the differentiation
Deliver the promised Value Proposition to target customers
Develop strong, long-term relationships and coordinate sales efforts with appropriate stakeholders at target accounts
Stakeholders would include Engineering, Operations, Prodcut Development, Purchasing
Product approval, testing and business agreements, including partnering and sole supplier agreements.
Gather customer and market intelligence and transmit to internal stakeholders on a regular and timely basis
Performance Management (10%)
Establish, with guidance from Manager, performance to objectives (sales, expenses, targeted accounts, personal development needs/training, etc.)
Complete status/forecasting reports as required
Develop and manage the budget (actual vs goal)
Complete monthly activity reports on a timely basis
Timely submission of the SFDC reporting
3-4 year university degree in Business, Science or engineering background.
Strong accountability to deliver results according to an aggressive plan
Ability to organize workload, manage projects and determine priorities
Team player with strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a matrix organization and to influence others from different functional areas and regions. Capable/comfortable working at all management levels.
Frequent travel to customers’ locations required. 70+% travel expected
At least 5 years experience serving & or selling in the specialty or fine chemicals industries.
7+ years sales manager/ business development and/or sales-related experience with a proven track record of identifying and delivering new business. Experience in the specialty chemicals will be an added advantage.
